Welcome to my web space.  Please bear with me as I learn to use our new software and develop a better way to communicate with students, parents, and the community.  For more information about me please continue reading President Reagan's words below and continue on to a few facts about myself at the end of this page.

President Reagan, in his farewell speech, concluded with one of the things he was most proud of for the American people:  national pride.  I want to share with you his words.  I hope you will find some meaning or purpose in them for your child to be in my American History class as well as taking an active role in your child and the other children in your neighborhood.

I am a native of Somerset, graduated from Sheridan High in 2000 and went on to Ashland University.  I have a Bachelors in Science with a focus on Integrated Social Studies (grades 7-12, with the ability to teach all of the Social Sciences).  I am currently working on completing my Masters in American History and Government which has provided opportunities to study our nation's founding documents as well as other primary sources in the location of their creation.

Last spring I spent a weekend in Philadelphia studying the founding of our Constitution as well as documents in support of and against that Constitution.  This March I am looking forward to studying Abraham Lincoln's writing's in Springfield, Illinois.  I hope that my opportunities will enrich the students of my classroom and help them gain a better understanding of what our government's purpose was and still is.

In regards to the 8th grade American History curriculum a student can expect to study our nation's beginnings with the exploration by European powers to the Reconstruction following our great Civil War.
