Thornville Preschool 





Two full days a week either Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday.  The preschools follow the local school district's calendar.

For Whom?

3 and 4 year olds and children that turn five after August 1 living in Northern Local School Districts.

What does it cost?

There is a fee ranging from free to $140.00 per month according to family income.

What about transportation?

Children are eligible to ride the buses which provide transportation to your local schools.

What are the requirements?

Children must be 3 yrs. old by August 1st, and toilet trained to enroll.  Parents or guardians need to fill out an application for enrollment, an income verification form and provide birth certificate and dental and medical records.

What kind of program is conducted?

The program is developmentally appropriate and designed to provide children with experiences that will enhance their overall achievement and development.  The program also provides guidance and encouragement for parents through parenting programs, volunteering in the classroom, etc.  Annual screenings are provided for each child including speech and vision.

Who provides the Public Preschool Program?

The Muskingum Valley ESC in cooperation with the Ohio Department of Education.

Faculty and Staff

All teachers are professional educators, highly qualified, hold a bachelors degree or higher and are certified by the State of Ohio to teach early childhood instruction.  Classroom assistants hold Educational Aide Certificates issued by the Ohio Department of Education and receive annual training in early childhood education.

The program is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education.
