A Message from Dr. Walter Skaggs, Superintendent

Northern Local School District

It is an honor to join the Northern Local School District family, a community built on tremendous pride, deep roots, and a tradition that continues to shape generations of learners. From the moment my wife and I arrived, we were welcomed with open arms. That kindness and sense of belonging speak volumes about the character of this district and the people who make it special.

Northern Local is a place where tradition is not only celebrated; it is lived every day in our classrooms, our activities, and our community partnerships. I am genuinely excited to become part of that legacy and to help carry it forward.

As we look ahead to the upcoming school year, my enthusiasm continues to grow. Together, we will remain focused on providing our students with the best possible overall experience; one that challenges them academically, supports them personally, and prepares them to be lifelong learners and contributors in their communities and beyond.

I encourage you to take time to explore our district website. It highlights the wonderful things happening across Northern Local. The innovative programs, student achievements, community events, and resources designed to support families and staff. There is so much to be proud of, and even more to look forward to.

Thank you again for the warm welcome. I am proud to serve this district, and I am excited for all we will accomplish together.
